We are now ready to create Communal Spaces, Music and Dance Temples and further habitation, all using local resources where possible and ecologically sound techniques.
Watch this space for more building courses held on site, and you too can become part of the Bosque Verde family for a tranquil break of learning and companionship!
Up and coming building courses:
Oct 8th -15th 2016 - Green wood, Double-reciprocal roof structure
This September, we offer our first building course, where we are excited to build this UNIQUE building. With course leader Stephen Lawley, you can learn different techniques to build your own double-reciprocal roofed structure. With only ONE other such building to be found online, (and perhaps in the world?) we are offering you the chance to get invovled! The course is designed to show the simple joints needed, give hands on experience, and will provide you with a handbook to take away for your own project.
At the end of the week, we'll have a celebration, and if you are staying on for the two weeks, you are free to join us on Sunday 18th for an Ecstatic Awakening Dance, a Shamanic massage or an introduction to Shamanic Journeying!...all for €10 per session
Course fees:
Full price (attend and enjoy!) - €295
Concession price (student or low income) - donations in the region of €145
Volunteer placement - Alongside participating in the course, you will be asked to help keep the Quinta running whilst you are here, for example, watering the vegetable gardens, cooking and clearing up duties, feeding and cleaning out the animals! We ask for a flexible approach when attending as a volunteer!

Full price (attend and enjoy!) - €195
Concession price (student or low income) - donations in the region of €95
Volunteer placement - Alongside participating in the course, you will be asked to help keep the Quinta running whilst you are here, for example, watering the vegetable gardens, cooking and clearing up duties, feeding and cleaning out the animals! We ask for a flexible approach when attending as a volunteer!
Continuing on from the first week, we will together add the roof structures, membrane and soil, and continue to plant the living roof if conditions allow.

Course Tutor: Stephen Lawley
"In the UK I have used straw bale and cob techniques for buildings and compost toilets in multiple communities and eco-projects. Now living in Portgual, I've spent the last few years designing and building reciprocal roof structures from both round and square poles.
I work on the permaculture principles of using what you have, I like to "Keep it Simple" (KISS), and have fun at the same time!"
Please note - for all courses at this time, please bring your own tent, suitable working clothes and footwear, and ecological soap etc...
