Volunteers working on the small geo-dome
Volunteering here is an opportunity to come into harmony with nature and unwind from the busy Western society... We welcome you to our haven!
The meals we provide are generally vegetarian, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, with many items from the land and that of our sister site "Quinta Da Luz".
There is plenty of space on site for secluded camping, and we do have a few tents that can be provided if necessary. You are free to wander the land, take a dip in the river to cool down in the midday heat, and there are plently of beautiful locations to visit nearby....
Items to bring include:
*Suitable clothing and footwear for all weathers and outdoor physcial work
*Tent and sleeping bag etc, and we ask that only natural cosmetics are used on site to keep the land in it's natural, organic condition
*Muscial instruments, books and other items for recreation! We are in a very tranquil part of the countryside and entertainment is down to us!
We welcome volunteers to stay all year around, and ask for a minimum of 1 week stay. We provide a beautiful setting and nutritious food in return for 6 hours work a day, 5 days a week... Work times and length can very depending on weather (!) and any specific projects or courses that are happening onsite.
Current projects are:
July/August 2016: completing communal shower block
Late August/ early Sept 2016: Processing wood ready for building workshop
Ongoing work includes:
*Footpath making, land clearing, planting and tending vegetable garden, firewood processing...the list goes on!
*There are many jobs and projects in the pipe-line so if you have specific skills to share, do get in touch, and we will try to accomodate you for a specific project
If you'd like to get involved with our sister site "Quinta da Luz" we can offer a mixed vounteering experience, for more information see here.
(We are both on Helpx, number 39682 for Bosque Verde, and
